JQL on pending approvals

We have a post function to Update any Issue Field (JSU) that populates "Approvers". I am trying to run a filter to checking my pending approvals. Any suggestions?

Approvals = myPending() 

it will return all issues which required approval from you and are pending.

I tried it out, but it does not return any issue.

It appears that in your search, you do have to first select a Service Management Project, since Approvals only apply to those projects.
