Hi
In HP ALM, we have two fields as shown in the attached screen for a defect/bug.
- Detected in Cycle
- Detected in Release
Is there a way we could have these two fields in Jira at the time of raising a defect so that above 2 fields will be automatically populated in ALM?
It seems that there is no directly mapped Field in Jira defect to represent this.
Regards
Piyal
You could also use a synchronization app for this.
I am from the Exalate team!
Exalate is a sync tool that allows to sync information bi- and uni-directionally between Jira and HP ALM instances.
It keeps autonomy. That means both Jira and HP ALM can be set-up and configured differently.
If you want, we can set up a demo to explain how it would work for your use case. You can book one here.
Hello @Piyal Nanayakkara
You can easily create 2 custom fields in Jira and map them to the project/issueType context
These 2 can be custom fields in JIra and added to the issue creation screen of defect, so that the user has to fill them while creating defects

Thanks for the answer. Need to get more details on mapping the custom field to the project/issueType context. See the attached image- What should be the value we need to pass for the highlighted field? Is it the mapping DB table's Field name for 'customfield1'. What is the mapping DB table field for the scenario of having this Custom Field in 'Bug' issue type?

The screenshot you have shared it from the field configuration section.
Please see the steps here to add a custom field (you need jira admin rights)
https://deviniti.com/support/addon/server/extension/latest/multilevel-structure-custom-fields/
And once you have added a custom field then you need to click on "Edit configuration as displayed in this page to configure projects and issueTypes against the projects.
