Make 'work description' field required when logging work in issue

Hi there,

I wanted to ask if there is any possibility to make the 'work description' field as a requirement when logging work in Jira the same way as the used time is also required?

As you can see if I try to log my work without putting in the amount of time I needed Jira gives me an error message. I want to achieve this with the 'work description' in the bottom.

I know that Jira uses Velocity templates and I even looked into 

JIRA_INSTALL_FOLDER/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/templates/jira/issue/field/worklog-edit.vm

 but I am not sure if it is ok to modify the file directly or if there is any other way to do this.
