Map users form JIRA directory with Active Directory

Hi, all.

We have to migrate a JIRA and Confluence servers to use the Active Direcoty user database.

I can not find an information how can the users from JIRA/Confluence be mapped with the Active Directory users (some of their names differ in one way or another), and what happens with all the user defined data- comments, logged work etc.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Cheers, Tihomir.

Hi Tohomir,

I think a good place to start off is by checking out the following article we have on user migrations.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Migrating+Users+between+User+Directories

Handling name differences will depend on which type of user directory you move to (connector vs delegated).
