Hello Atlasian Comunity!,
I have the following situation, we inherited 2 JIRA servers, both have the same user base, but they are used for different purposes, 1 JIRA is use for project's developments, and the other is used as a ticketing/helpdesk system.
We want to merge both instances in order to remain with only 1 JIRA server, as well as to save in license costs. I'm wondering if we can transfer the licensed plugins installed on Instance B to Instance A?
I don't know if the SEN# of those licensed plugins is linked to the SEN# of the JIRA instance they are installed.
Thanks in advanced for your responses.
Regards,
Francis.
Sure, you can do this! Server licenses should move without an issue. My recommendation is that you simply remove the active license from Instance B before installing the license on Instance A. You should be able to edit the active license, remove the current value, and save it (putting the plugin on instance B into an unlicensed state).
You can even install the plugins on Instance A in an unlicensed state so that all you have to do is move the license over when you're ready to do the migration.
Good luck with your consolidation!
