New colors of issue statuses (Server, since 8.2)

Since 8.2 there are new colors for issue status (RN: New colors of issue statuses). Many of our customers update to the newer version, so we are confronted with this problem.

So far the color contrast was very good. Now the difference between dark grey/blue and blue can hardly be seen on many screens.

It also confusing many users that the meaning of the category color has changed. Blue originally stood for "To Do" and now it suddenly means "In Progress"!?

How can I return to the old colours? Is there a configuration for it?

Hi Detlef,

Sorry to hear that this change to the status colors has caused problems here.  I can certainly understand why this change could cause confusion.

Unfortunately, there is not a clear path to change back to the old colors scheme for this.  Jira System administrators do not have the ability to change the colors in use here.   I did however come across a new feature request to revert this change in JRASERVER-69448.  In it, other users have commented how this change has negatively affected them.  I would recommend that you watch this post for updates.  Granted the ticket you referenced is seeking to allow admins to customize the status colors.  Whereas the issue I cited is more of a request to allow admins to revert the color scheme back to the previously used color scheme.

Sorry there is not a clear work-around at this time, but I would expect an update to that ticket should one become available.

Regards,

Andy
