Plan to Re-Installin JIRA Core and Confluence

Hartono _ December 27, 2020

Dear All,

Currently, my configuration is like below :

1. JIRA Core 8.9.0 and JIRA Confluence 7.0 are installed into one server with specs 8 Core and 16 RAM

2. Still using H2 Database

Question:

I am planning to re-install my JIRA Core and Confluence into Latest and install it into on the same server. Any suggestion about what I need to do (step-by-step)?

Hi @Hartono _ ,

My suggestion is to first migrate from H2 database to some supported database, H2 is only meant to be used to demo environments and they were not meant for production due many know issues.

When you say "Re-Install", do you mean start from scratch and wipe your data or upgrade your environment to run the latest version? Below are some guides with upgrade best practices.

I strong recommend to clone your environment to test the upgrade and once it works you can plan the upgrade in production environment.

Remember of backing up your hard disk prior any of these activities because data can be lost during these process.
