Potential issues with time tracking legacy mode turned off

We're going to turn off the legacy time tracking mode so the Original Estimate field can be edited after any time is logged on. Do you know if there is any risk related with this action, like some reports may start behave incorrectly or whatever?

The only problem i can think of is the velocity chart not working (i.e. if you have jira-agile enabled). Velocity chart takes into account the original estimate in its calculation;. So if you are allowing users to adjust it during middle of sprint then the chart will be non-representative.
