Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I like that JIRA sends email notifications when an issue is edited- most of the time. When I change "there" to "their" in a comment and everyone on the team get an unnecessary email and a reminder of my embarrassing grammar skills- not so much.
Would it be possible to set something up where when end users make an edit they are given an option to not trigger an email notification?
Obviously users could abuse this, but I'm OK with that possible disadvantage.
It all depends on your notification scheme. You can control who gets notifications on which actions and also different notification scheme for each project. For " issue comment edited " you can give a small group or a project role rather than all the JIRA users.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
