Project - user permissions

Hello, I'm trying to give different types of permissions for each of my user groups. I have several projects and I want that groups can see only projects assigned to them. For example, the group customer relations should not be able to see the projects assigned to developers. I tried lots of things. When I assign just the project related to the group of CR and I remove the group of "users" the users of CR can not login. When I assign the project to the group of CR and "users", the users can see every project. What can I do?

Hi,

you should not use the group "users" to manage project permissions. In general, the group "users" is used to control, who can login to Jira or not.

Project specific permissions are given by permission schemes or project roles. In your permission scheme, give the "Browse Project" permission for example to the project role "Developers", then in your project user administration, assign your group "CR" to the project role "Developers".

... the end result of this boils down to looking at the global permissions and seeing what groups have "can log in" - you probably need to completely re-work the groups in there (the default is "jira users") so that you end up with one group that means "can log in" which is not used for anything else, especially permission schemes...
