Query issues with the same field value as current issue?

Is it possible to configure a query that finds all issues with the same field value as the current issue?

The use case involves the Issue Matrix plugin.  We use unique customer codes and I'm hoping to be able to have the Issue Matrix display all issues in which the "Customer Code" custom field contains the same value as the current issue.  (I would then add additional query parameters to narrow down the projects and issue types that I'd want to appear)  

Is this possible, either using system JQL functions or any plugins?
