Question about if permissions can "migrate" across disparate JIRA servers

We are in process of consolidating four Atlassian environments into a single centralized instance, but we have some questions about permissions. Our primary authentication directory is Windows Active Directory.

Server A authenticates directly against Active Directory.
Server B uses Crowd for authentication, and that Crowd server has a delegated directory connector using the same Active Directory source server as Server A.

As an example, if we attempt to perform a JIRA Project XML export/import from Server A to Server B, would the Project permissions on the imported Project also carry its permissions with it, if those permissions are in the form of an Active Directory security group, or would Server A need to be authenticating against the same Crowd server as Server B in order for the import to carry the migrated permissions properly?

The project import does not import permission schemes.   This is noted in the bottom of part 4 of Preparing your target Jira instance:

As such, you will need to define your own permissions that should be applied to that project on the destination Jira site.
