Question on Jira-System-Administrators group. on Jira Server. Getting the this group is read-only error when trying to add new members.   found another article https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/jira-server-throws-directory-is-read-only-error-when-adding-users-to-groups-264044699.html

that speaks to cause and resolution.  I am wondering if I can remove the LDAP Sync with Crown temporarily, so I can get at the Jira-system-administrators group in a NON Read ONLY mode, add the new members, then restore the LDAP sync in CROWD.

I do not have permissions to manage crowd, but appear to be the only person now in the Jira-system-administrators group, so would need to coordinate this effort with the CROW administrator if this is the proper way to get new members added to the JSA group

@Lopes_ Bonnie Does that group exist in Active Directory?  My guess is that it does.  If that is the case just add the users to the group in Active Directory and it will then sync over to Jira.

I could not find this group in our active directory, as I went down our corporate route to add the members to the AD group, but no such group was found.
