We have recently installed JIRA and Confluence (Server) and have the Jira Service Desk Application v4.5.8 plugin.
Is it possible to integrate Jira with our existing ActiveDirectory to utilise single sign on.
If so - how is this done?
I have searched but have heard that this is possible and not possible from different sources.
And that it may require a 3rd party plugin.
The main reason for SSO would be to allow staff from within the business to raise Issues/Service Requests via the Jira Service Desk Portal without maintaining separate user/password credentials.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Daniel Walter ,
The built-in SSO functionality is only available in the Datacenter version of the JIRA and Confluence. For the server version, you will need a 3rd party SSO plugin.
There are multiple 3rd party SSO plugins available on the Atlassian Marketplace. You can take a look at the SSO add-on from miniOrange which provides Secure SSO to Atlassian applications from Azure Active Directory other SAML IDP and have lots of customization options to full fill your requirements.
Thanks,
Lokesh
PS: I work for miniOrange, one of the top SSO vendors in the Atlassian Marketplace. Feel free to reach out to miniOrange support, in case of if you need assistance with the plugin setup.
