Activity Stream does not permit direct comment or watch for any issue

Activity Stream does not permit direct comment entry or watch activation for displayed issues. The feature was active in previous version but after upgrade to 5.0, 5.1, and 5.1.2 the feature was no longer available.

Hi Gerald,

I have done additional testing and yes, you are correct, it seems that JIRA 5.1.x does not show the actions. This is a bug which is currently being tracked at https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/STRM-2097.

Actually it is still possible for us to add comment, watch or vote an issue directly from Activity Stream in JIRA 5. Kindly refer to the Activity Stream documentation for more details on this:
- https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA051/Adding+the+Activity+Stream+Gadget

But since you are currently unable to perforrm the actions from Acitivity Stream gadget, perhaps you may try to check the permission scheme configured to the projects.

I have checked permission scheme configured for various projects. The question I am really asking is if there was something that changed in 5.0 that changed dependency for the ActivityStream as I indicated that the feature had been working and then had disappeared.
