Add post function to set "sprint" custom field to latest active sprint

Hi, I want to update the sprint field to the current/latest active sprint when it goes from "todo" to "in progress". I see that I can add a post function to the transition to update the sprint field value but I couldn't find what are the valid values I can set it to?

What values can I use in the "custom field value" below? I tried searching around the website.. but couldn't find anything other than some scripts/code which doesn't seem like the right thing here.

I did not try this but now that I know the sprint's actually have an id associated with them and you have to search by their ids, I believe you can put the sprint's id # in this field. For example, if you use Jira's search function for a sprint named "Sprint X", in the search field's autocomplete you'll see "Sprint X (#)". The # is the id. But that means you need to update this field every sprint for it to be updated to the right sprint id - which would be a pain.

I wish there was a function to say "current active sprint" or some such.

+1 searching for this exact functionality

- We are trying to track versions and resolutions of issues per sprint. Because sprint is carried over the same issue is shown as resolved for every sprint the card lived in. We want to only track the sprint that the issue was moved to "done" in.
