Adding Date Validator in Workflow

We are attempting to make our developers add a date to our resolution notes field which is a open text field. I would like to add a validator in the workflow that basically verifies that this field does have a date entry in their notes. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Hi Bryan,

Just thinking out loud here. Wouldn't a better option be to add another custom field of date type and make it required?

If not, you will have to parse the text and check if it contains text that matches a date regular expression.

Thank you for the suggestion. I want to eliminate creating another field but it may inevitable.
