Auto Sub task Creation based on my selections

Here’s what I want to see if we can do... we can define the actual issue types & subtasks once we know the capability exists.

We have several different types of implementations which have different scope, for example, we have some implementations that have custom materials, some that don’t… some with a white label, some without, etc. So what I’d like to be able to do is based on the implementation type, to auto-create subtasks. Here are a couple of examples

Option 1:
Project Type: Program Management
Issue Type: New Implementation

• (checkbox/dropdown) Custom Materials – yes or no – “YES” selected
• (checkbox/dropdown) White Label – yes or no – “NO” selected
• (checkbox/dropdown) New IVR – yes or no – “YES” selected
• (checkbox/dropdown) New Fee Schedule – yes or no – “YES” selected
• (checkbox/dropdown) API Integration – yes or no – “YES” selected
• Etc

Auto Subtask Creation based on above selections:
• Subtask for Staging BP/Dev Studio Login assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for API support assigned to Kiran
• Subtask for New IVR assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for Custom Materials-Card assigned to Manoj
• Subtask for Custom Materials-Carrier assigned to Manoj
• Subtask for New Fee Schedule assigned to Vinoth
• (no subtask for White Label since it was selected as No)

Now if we don’t have the option to select scope by checkbox/dropdown, the second option is to have different issue types so we can create subtasks that. For example:

Project Type: Program Management
Issue Type: New Implementation – API/Materials/White Label
Auto Subtask Creation based on above selections:
• Subtask for Staging BP/Dev Studio Login assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for API support assigned to Kiran
• Subtask for White Label-UI assigned to Manikantha
• Subtask for White Label-WAP assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for White Label-BPP assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for White Label-Mobile Apps assigned to Sunil
• Subtask for White Label-IVR assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for Custom Materials-Card assigned to Manoj
• Subtask for Custom Materials-Carrier assigned to Manoj
• Subtask for Prod API credentials assigned to Vinoth
• Etc.

Different issue types would have different subtask creation.
Issue Type: New Implementation – API
Auto Subtask Creation based on above selections:
• Subtask for Staging BP/Dev Studio Login assigned to Vinoth
• Subtask for API support assigned to Kiran
• Subtask for Prod API credentials assigned to Vinoth

There are several add-ons that will allow you to do this, most of them providing post-functions for "create sub task" with plenty of configuration options

Hi,

This can be done in the "Issue Temptate" plugin (Intenso).
You can attach in workflow a postfunction "Create SubTask" from this plugin. Then you have to create issue template with all subTask templates. For each you have to configure jql expression. Post Function will check if jql passed for current issue. If yes, the subTask will be created.
