Hi,
i am the admin and Traffic manager of a big team in the company , we have 17 projects, 20 members, i need to use Slack and Jira work management to :
1- send a private message to everyone in Slack if i assign a task for him, but for all projects by a single configuration. for exemple :
if i assign to X a ticket in Jira a private message in Slack sended to X
2- i want to notify them about any update of the Status if a ticket go from In progress to Validate. for exemple :
if a ticket go to To Validate a private message in Slack go to Y
i used the automation but its work in the group channels in Slack, its not efficient cuz no one look to the channels, and i need to do it for all projects and every members.
3- i want to configurate Jira in Slack for all the workspace in Slack, ia m an admin, then they can get notifications.
pls make sure to list step by step the solutions Thank you
Hi @Oussema Marai ,
Not sure if this is doable with automation rules.
I think we can help you with Actioner's Jira app, though: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1230509/jira-for-slack-by-actioner?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
Feel free to contact me and clarify all requirements. Will be happy to instruct how this is achievable with this app.
Cheers,
Emel @ Actioner
Hi @Oussema Marai -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Slack has its own user accounts, independent of Jira users. And so this is not a simple problem to solve with automation rules.
Please see this how-to article from an Atlassian team member on accessing the Slack information to do this: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Automation-articles/Mention-someone-directly-in-Slack-via-Jira-Automation/ba-p/1528605
You have listed many other details in your question for the scenario. I recommend you create a basic rule which can send a message to one specific user, and then expand that to perform the other needed details.
Kind regards,
Bill
