×I need to set default assignee to some status/transition. I did this before and it worked well
I've used the following instructions in the Atlassian Documentation.
After step 2 - nothing works:
- There is no such thing as workflow designer (no button 'Design')
- No mouse pointer or anything similar in the "edit workflow' page
- I can not find anything related to 'validators' in Jira Administration search bar.
Could you please help me to find a way to set new validator in the updated design?
And dear Atlassian, would be nice if you update the documentation :(
Kindly have a look at this documentation:

Also you need to be a Jira admin to manage workflows.
Hi Ira,
To add a Validator in a workflow, you have to go to Administration -> Issues -> Workflows and click on "Edit" for the workflow that you want.
Then, you have to go to the "Text" view and select the transition that you need to edit:
And go into "Validators" tab and you will see an "Add Validator" button.
Anyway, to do what you want to do, I think that you could better use a Post Function.
To do this, do the same process that you would do to add a Validator but instead of "Validators" tab, go to "Post Functions" Tab.
This will let you to set action that will be executed once the transition is done.
When you click on "Add Post Function" you will see some options:
For that you want you have a few options:
Hope it helps!
Regards,
Marcos

If you are on server, then you can see your version of Jira in the footer of your Jira instance:
If you are on Cloud, there are no versions. If you are on Cloud, then your Jira URL must have .atlassian.net prefix
