Greetings,
I am using Jira Atlassian Jira v8.5.7 and I am a sadm.
I manage a Project in Jira that has a number of Users and Roles, one of these Roles is Users. This role in my project has 4 people. This role is given certain permissions among the various Project permissions.
However, when I go to any of this Project's Kanban boards (of which there are many) and I go the the board's "Configure... > General" page, then go to edit the Filter Shares, I cannot add the role of Users to either Add Viewers or Add Editors because Users does not show in the drop down containing the various roles.
I can add other existing roles to either the Add Viewers or Add Editors, but I cannot see the role Users.
What do I need to do to see Users among the roles to add to Add Viewers in the Filter Shares?
Thanks!
This is because your "users" is a project-role and filters do not belong to projects.
Because there's no relationship between a filter and a project, they can't use the project roles to control access.
The best you can do is check the permissions of the users for that project and replicate the view permissions into the filter share settings.

Thanks Nic, hmm, I don't quite follow, I have other roles in this project (Data Steward, Subject Matter Expert, Metadata Team) and all of these other roles have people assigned to them on the Project settings > Users and roles page and all of these roles show up in the drop down seen on the Configure... > General > edit the Filter Shares > Add Viewers / Add Editors.
What am I missing?

So I just added myself to the Users role within my Project and I can now see Users in the drop down for the Add Viewers / Add Editors. What is it about the other 4 people in the Users role that I can't add the Users role as Viewer within the Filter Shares?
