Can we generate persistance session key for Jira?

Use case: Call JIRA API to check project roles.

Rally's app key uses persistence session token(zsessionid). Can we generate persistent session token for JIRA or use similar algorithm as zsessionid to create session id.

Not sure if I understood what do you need, but you may be interested in the /rest/auth/1/session, which can be used to get a JSESSIONID.
