I have some groups, with each a manager and some users in the group.
group A; manager A; user 1, user 2
group B; manager B; user 3, user 4
Depending on the user, a CF (called manager) should have the default value of the corresponding manager.
Manager is a user-picker field, limited to the manager group (contains all managers).
So if user 1 makes an issue, the manager-CF should be A.
Same for user 4, default=manager B.
The user can still choose someone else, but the default should be set.
How can i do this in JIRA 4.2 ?
(I know 4.2 is outdated, but still...)
TY
Hey there, Sir Be.
Since JIRA 4.2 is already EOL, it might be kinda hard to get this implemented. Have you considered upgrading JIRA to at least 5.0.x? There are lotsa new features that are introduced that you might be interested in.
In addition to that, you can also try to reach out to Atlassian Support to seek advice from them but of course, provided that you are running a supported version of JIRA.
So it isn't possible to do this in JIRA 4.2.
I've post here a lot of questions about stuff to do in the 4.2.
People said 'why don't you upgrade to a newer version? It will be much easier to do it.'
But all my questions could be answered and could be fixed.
So now I have a reason to ask my admin to upgrade to a newer version.
