Email Handler not creating new issues

Deleted user March 6, 2018

I am creating an email handler to enable non-jira users to create issues by sending an email to specific account.

I have configured following email Handler

However I have question, where do i specify the email-id to where non-jira users will send the email to create issues ?

regards,

Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

Are you looking for the Catch All Email Address or the Default Reporter?:

Catch Email Address

Process emails only if a specific recipient is included in the To, CC, or BCC lines (e.g. issues@mycompany.com). You can use this option if have multiple aliases for the same mail account and want to receive emails from only one alias.

Note that you can only specify one catch email address and one issue type per mail handler. The Default Reporter option is more commonly used in place of catch emails.

Default Reporter

If you don't select the Create Users option, specify the username of a default reporter to be used if the sender's email address doesn't match the address of an existing user.

Let us know if that's not what you're looking for.

Cheers,

hello Branden,

I am trying to use email handler " Create a new issue from each email message".

My requirement is when somebody sends email to " mahesh@whatfix.com", Jira should be able catch & process it to create an issue in Project " Professional services PMO".

Mahesh@whatfix.com is valid user in Jira however requests would generally come from non-Jira users.

I have set mahesh@whatfix.com as default reporter but still email handler is not working. Not sure what is mistake i am doing !

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

Regards,

Mahesh
