Any public guidelines for doing this for jira 7.7.1?

What is your question @qanda qanda ?

Do you want Kerberos or SAML? Do you have a local AD or using Azure? 

Generally our doucmentation is verison dependent and should be the same on JIRA 7.7.1 as on JIRA 6 for example.
