External Database with Jira installation - Insight?

I am just installing Jira software and the installation process says to have my database ready to go before installation, I have purchased Insight with Jira do I have to have another database already setup besides Insight?

Hi Judson, 

Insight is using the same database as Jira, so if you follow the installation instructions from Atlassian when setting up Jira, you should be fine.

You said "Insight is using the same database as Jira" so Insight itself is not a database? So I do need to have a separate database that both Insight and Jira to access and use?
