What BI Tools do you use with Jira? What do you like or not like about them?
I have trialed EazyBI a while back and it was nice, but haven't tried any of the other ones.
What are your favorite / most useful reports you or your users use with the BI Tool?
The one use-case that comes up over and over again is better "estimates vs. actuals" reporting. The Time Tracking report in stock Jira is lousy and inflexible. looking forward to implementing a tool to solve that, but I would like some other use cases to "sell" the adoption of a BI tool for Jira.
I suggest taking a look at Analytics and Reports by Screenful. It brings several new chart types such as line charts, dual axis line charts, scatter plot, stacked bar charts, and multi-bar charts. Feature include:
- Mix & match data across Classic and Next-gen projects
- New List view chart for creating reports of issues
- Export or share with a public link
- Compare multiple metrics in one chart (e.g. estimate vs actual)
- Advanced charts including multi-bar charts and dual axis line charts
- Track any of your custom fields, including the new Next-gen fields
- Easy to use editor, no coding or complex query language needed
Hi @Allan Flatoff - I have used two Jira reporting tools extensively: EazyBI and AIO Reports.
Additional use cases to consider are time dimension reports such as how long an issue spent in each status of the workflow, how many times an issue returned to a given status, or how long it took an issue to be resolved (the last one you can get with Jira out of the box, but your options with that are limited). Looking at those kind of measurements can give you insights to the suitability of a workflow or how well a team is moving issues through the workflow.
EazyBI is the absolute most powerful and versatile solution. That versatility come with a steep learning curve when you go beyond straight forward reports. The learning curve is worth it if you have high demand for time dimension reporting.
AIO Reports has a much shorter learning curve and can cover most report use cases for most people. It's time dimension reporting is good but nothing like EazyBI. You may run up against the limits of its capabilities in that area depending on the complexity of your current or anticipated reporting needs.
I'd check out AIO Reports since you have already worked with EazyBI. Throw your toughest report you need at it and see how it fairs. If you push it's limits then EazyBI may be the way to go.

Hi Allan,
this is a pretty open questions...
First: What do you understand of BI? We use BI in our company to dig up & analyse terabytes of company data.... This is not connected to Jira in any way.
Second: If you want to analyse & create reports on Jira data, then Easy BI is a great tool & generates cool reports. I'm not sure if it can handle massive amounts of data...
Best

Hi @JP _AC Bielefeld Leader_ EazyBI can handle pretty large datasets. The case where it may have performance issues is where MDX based calculated fields require a great deal of dimension traversal. EazyBI support is great about helping to optimize the MDX or tweaking settings to help it handle the heavier load.
