Field security: Other default JIRA fields?

Is there any way I can include other default JIRA fields in the security settings?

I'd like to be able to include things like "priority", "issue type" and other items which some people in the project are allowed to change and others not.

Anyone has any suggestion/idea?

I'm afraid that this is not really possible within JIRA intself, as there was an improvement ticket regarding this issue (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-1330) and it was closed as "Won't Fix".

However, I think I have found a plugin that may help you acheive what you require, it's called Field Security Plugin, it allows you to set the security for JIRA fields, and even the custom fields as well. Have a look at it here:
