Hi There,
We are using Jira Software 7.12 self hosted on our internal server.
And our FreshDesk is linking with Jira, that means we can create a Jira Ticket from FreshDesk straightaway. but recently there is a notice every time we login FreshDesk. It says :"Please update your Jira app authentication. A recent update has been made to accommodate the basic auth deprecation announced by Jira".
But the instruction is for Cloud version.
My question is do we need to do anything about it? If we do, how?
Thanks,
Alvin
Same scenario:
- using cloud version of Jira
- generated API token on atlassian
- entered token in Freshdesk > apps > Jira-app authentication
Results:
1) Jira linking just spins around trying to connect - ie is broken
2) Message on Freshdesk still persists: "Please update your Jira app authentication. A recent update ......"

I have the exact same issue. I have contacted Freshdesks support and asked for a status update.
They are going to "Investigate" the issue.
fingers crossed....

We're getting this message as well, except we are using JIRA in the Atlassian Cloud. We tried to generate a new API Token and specified it in Freshdesk's Atlassian JIRA App Settings, but now Freshdesk-JIRA linking doesn't work at all and the message still appears!?
(This should probably be directed to Freshdesk - I just found this thread from a Google search ;)

Hi Alvin,
I understand you're using Jira Server, but keep seeing a notification from this Freshdesk add-on to Jira that is warning you constantly about changes to the Jira Cloud REST API methods. I suspect they are referring to this notification: Deprecation notice - Basic authentication with passwords and cookie-based authentication
This notice does not apply to Jira Server. It only applies to Atlassian Cloud products. I don't think there is anything you need to do here.
Could you let me know which specific plugin/add-on you are using do to this integration? Perhaps that way we can better understand which vendor would be best to reach out to regarding this particular message. It seems like it does not apply at all to Server users of Jira.
Regards,
Andy
