HOw do i find find what version of jira is used by my prjoect?
In the login page footer section im able to see the follwing content.
So is it specifies that we are using JIRA Version of 4.0.1?

If it's not in "about Jira", then I'd guess you're on Cloud. Where you are on "latest" and have no reason to worry about the actual version because it doesn't affect what you're doing and you have no control over it.
