Hello guys,
I need help on this please.
I've already read the doc about issue security, basically it let us set up issues that can only be seen by specific users.
My case : I have one project in Jira, I want to use it for 4 apps. So I thought about creating components; one component for each app (is it a good idea ?)
Now I have BUG issue type that I want to divide to internal and external bugs.
I want a specific group of people to only view external bugs, after few researches I found that it's doable with issue security, that's what I did :
Create issue security scheme --> add security level to issue security scheme --> Add members to security level --> Associate project with issue security scheme
But how can I make those specific users see specific issues ? How to set up some bugs issues so it can be seen by specific users ?
For the issue security scheme to work, your users have to select the "level" of the security. Leaving it blank does not hide it, selecting a level does hide it from people who do not match the rules for the level.
To make it work with components, you will need your users to select the correct level every time. Or automate it - find or write a "post function" that sets the security from the component when creating the issue.
Nic, for us users new to Jira, where is this "level" field or value of the security you speak of? When viewing my issues, I do not see where I can select a "level". Or did I misunderstand your response? I need to make certain project issues viewable to different groups of users. Thanks.

There's several steps I'm afraid.
An admin has to create an "issue security scheme" which has one or many levels in it. Each level will have rules about users that are in it.
Then they need to grant people the permission "set security" in the permission scheme.
Finally, they need to check that the "level" field is on the screens for create and edit.
