How to collapse a swimlane when a story is closed

I have a Scrum board where swimlanes are organised by stories. Stories without subtasks will show up as a single card, while the ones with subtasks are represented as swimlanes, which is great.

What I would like to achieve is to show a story as a single card when it's closed, no matter if it has or has no subtasks. We use quite a few subtasks, and it would make our board much cleaner if closed items were represented as single cards.

If all the subtasks are closed, but the story is not, I still want to show it as a swimlane.

Is this even possible?

Thanks,

Tamas

Hi Tamas

Not sure if Jira had a switch to exactly meet your requirement. But I do see a workaround:  Add a quick filter into your board to hide the Done sub-tasks, and display only Story and incomplete sub-tasks.
