How to give only "Projects->Import External Project" access permission to Project Lead in Jira?

Hi,
We would like to give Projects->Import External Project permission to some Jira users like Project Lead, few Jira-users without giving full Admin privileges as they have to use/import "Test Case Importer" option to upload the Xray Test cases into their respective Xray project being created inside Jira.

We are using Xray Test Management add-on inside Jira.

Good news: Xray v3.1 aimed for early March 2018 will allow non-admin users to use Xray's built-in Test Case Importer.

Hi Manju,

There's an existing feature request open for this at JRASERVER-64645 Customer request for more control on user CSV import access. 

I wonder if using some scripts to hide the "Import issues from CSV" option would work for your case. The script could check for whether the user is a Project Lead in the project or not and hide the page if the user is not the Project Lead. However, hiding would not be so effective as it could potentially be hacked by accessing the page directly via the URL.

Open for other suggestions.

But by default other than Jira admin, no other user will able to see "Projects->Import External Project" option.

How to make this visible/operational for Project Lead alone?
