How to prevent creation of "External Issue Id" field after import.

We are importing many external JIRA projects to our JIRA environment. However, every time the field with the name "External Issue Id" get create. We don't want to get this field create for every import. Any suggestion?

It is a know bug: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-66150

Issue id should be used to add sub-tasks, but it is included.

As workaround, after importing the issues I perform a bulk change leaving this field empty.  Additionally this field is automatically added to the associated project screen so it has to be removed.

Yes, I also noticed that I have a multiple External ID fields for every time I imported a different file. Is there a step by step on how to use this functionality that I'm not aware of?
