How to properly set-up IIS

Tommy van Extel June 12, 2020

Hi there,

I am bit confused on how to properly set-up IIS with Jira.

Basically there are 2 docs describing how to do so, but one mentions the use of a separate tomcat connector (named isapi_redirect) and the other doesn't, so i wonder what is accurate? I executed steps from both procedures and i have it working, except for the fact the http traffic is not being redirected to https so if anyone can help with that; please!

I just wonder what is actually happening on the background...

I'm a Linux engineer so my IIS knowledge is basic, sorry for that :)

For now i just have the proper 443 binding on the actual Jira site and modified the Default Web Site (port 80 binding only) with "HTTP Redirect" to sent all traffic to the https url
