How to sync @-mentions across SF/Jira comments integration?

Jason Giroux March 19, 2019

If I have associated SF and Jira issues and I'm syncing comments between the two, is it possible to transmit an @-mention in say a Jira comment and have it actually post to the SF ticket with the same user @-mentioned?

Hello Jason,

If you're using the Jira Cloud version of our connector comments will look like this way in our provided VisualForce Page or Lightning component when there is a user mention coming from Jira:

In the chatter feed it will be displayed as shown below:

If you're using Jira Server user mentions will look this way:

Best regards,

Juan

Hi @Juan Recabarren [ServiceRocket] ,

Thanks for the response. Does this require a synced user group between SF and Jira via AD or something similar, though? How are you connecting an @-mention to a Jira user to a user in SF, or vice-versa, if the two users are not connected in some way?

Thanks!

Hi @Jason Giroux,

For my test environment, I'm using the Jira internal directory, but it should behave the same for any LDAP implementation with Jira for the user directory.
