How to translate JIRA fields

Bart Jutte January 23, 2019

We start to use JIRA in a number of countries and I want to translate some of the regular JIRA fields into other languages. Custom fields have a translate-option available via a dropdown menu, but for the regular fields like issue or due date, this seems to be missing. We use DataCenter and JIRA Server.

Appreciate your help on this topic.

Hi @Bart Jutte,

standard fields are translated by default by selecting the user language. If you want to rename a standard field because you don't like how it's translate it, you can look into this link: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/renaming-system-fields-in-jira-278692006.html

Translations are hidden in various places it seems and not all work. Translations of issue types for example. The development team found a workaround now, but this requires a JIRA restart. A bit strange for a translation of a field..
