Hi Support,

I have created the new status in the workflow and the workflow is inactive. Does it impact on the other user and performance of the jira.?

Best Regards,

Amit Arora

I had the same issue, while creating a new worklfow with several new statuses. The result was, that the system was so slow, we had to restart it.

@Amit Arora

Welcome to the community!

Obviously! as @Alexey Matveev said, if you are not going to use the workflow or statuses still those objects contain some space/memory and whenever the new workflow or status going to create it will unnecessary load all the names of statuses that are available into the instance.

So make sure don't create unnecessary status if it is already available.

Hi @Amit Arora,

As far as I know it should not, you can also try to rebuild the index after adding new state and enabling new workflow.

Hello,

Every object added to any system makes the system work slower. But it becomes visible when there are many new objects added. Jira performance depends on many different objects in Jira. But if you add a single status, you will not notice any degradation. Just add a status and have a look. I always try to add as few Jira objects as possible, but I still met Jira instances with lots of objects and it worked fine. If you are concerned about Jira performance, you should do performance testing.
