Is it possible to import fields from excel into an existing JIRA issue?

I want to convert a bunch of test scripts from excel files into JIRA tests but I already have the tests created in JIRA, I just want to move the test data from my excel into the existing test tasks.  Is this possible or do I have to start from scratch with an import? 

Also, if I do have to do a new import, is there any way of making the blank fields stay blank instead of pulling in "null"?

If you are a jira administrator and do a CSV import then you can map each excel column to a custom field, provided each line has a jira issue key to know which line belongs to which issue.

Or perhaps you'd like to put the data into comments?

These are my ideas without knowing anything about the format in which your test data is in.
