JIRA Automation WebHooks Execution Delay

Sidney Joshua Ambrose July 6, 2023

In our JIRA instance we use a lot of automation for all the projects. Almost all automations have webhooks in them. Recently, the execution of these webhooks are taking too long, sometimes hours. We are not sure what changed or what is causing this?
Could anyone assist?

Regards,
Sidney

Hi @Sidney Joshua Ambrose,

Per your description, I would say it might be possible that one or more webhooks are taking longer to respond.

Thread dumps would help to identify where the slowness is.

Additionally, confirming the value of the outgoing.webhook.timeout.ms parameter might be worth checking if it's too high.

A support ticket would be good to troubleshoot this issue better.

Hey Artur,

Thank you so much for your response. I will start looking into thread dumps and also check value of the outgoing.webhook.timeout.ms.We are using server version of JIRA. Is it okay for us to submit the ticket even though the support for server version of JIRA has ended?

Regards,
Sidney

Hey @Sidney Joshua Ambrose

You are welcome!

Sure, the Jira server support will end on Feb 2024! You can certainly open a support case if you have a valid license.

Here on this page https://www.atlassian.com/migration/assess/journey-to-cloud you should find more details about it.
