Hi everyone.
our company is considering whether it is worth moving from Jira Software Data Center to Jira Cloud. However, since we store very sensitive data that cannot be stored online due to internal data protection guidelines, I am now wondering whether there is a way to use Jira Cloud and store certain data on our local server. Unfortunately, i have not found anything about this so far.
thanks for your help.
Hello @Alexander Witsch
With Jira Cloud, you cannot really store the data on your local instance, this is all in the hands of Data Center since you are using your own resources for your data. What you can actually do is to use the Data Residency, where you can change the country where your data is being stored.
You can read more about data residency here: https://www.atlassian.com/software/data-residency
Hej @Nikola Perisic and @Ajay _view26_
Thanks for your quick reply. I had already found this solution, but it does not comply with our internal guidelines. It seems we`ll stick with Jira Data Center for now.
Nevertheless, thank you for your efforts.
Cheers

Hi @Alexander Witsch ,
As @Nikola Perisic mentioned there is no support currently , however you might want to vote on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-75407 to bring support for external storage
