One Avatar Across All Atlassian Applications Behind the Firewall?

Is there any way to configure the (stand alone) Atlassian applications that we use (JIRA, Confluence, Stash, Bamboo, Fisheye/Crucible, and even Crowd) to all draw from the same avatar location so that when a user sets their avatar, it's the same in all applications? Fisheye/Crucible used to pull its avatars from Confluence, but I think this has been broken since we moved to Confluence 5.3, but all the others have been independent. We can't use gravatar.com, so that's not an option. Other suggestions? I haven't looked into this yet and I hope there's an easier way (or maybe it's easy?), but maybe there's a way to emulate the gravatar.com service that we can set up internally and point all the apps to it?

Actually this is a feature request for Crowd as you can see here:https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CWD-2165. Unfortunately there is still no workaround for it.

I understand your concern with this, but the implementation of any feature will always rely on the popularity/need of it to be implemented and we can't estimate when it will be done.
