Project Field: just show the project that user can browse

Rafael Fernandez May 18, 2018

Hello!

I have a problem with the Project field.

My clients have a user/password to access to our JIRA.

They use JIRA-CORE users.

In each Project I use a permissions scheme, so each user only can BROWSE his Project.

But when the user access to JIRA and creates a new issue, in the Project field can see all the projects. In this case, this user only has permission to browse 'GOWAII (GOW)' projectproject field.jpg

I'll appreciate some help about this.

Thanks

I found what is wrong!!!!

In  'create issue' permission I have permission to the group 'anybody'.... I change to the Role/Group of the user and all works fine!

Thanks!

The users are getting the permission from somewhere. The first thing I'd do is verify the jira-users group (or other logon group) doesn't have any permissions in the permission scheme.  By default JIRA puts the logon group in the permission scheme in several places which leads to this type of problem.

Hi @Rafael Fernandez,

What Permission Scheme are all the other projects using?

Are the permissions set up with Project Roles or User Groups? My suggestion would be to utilise Project Roles where possible.

Thanks
