Hi I would like to ask if you know about aby addon, which would be able to server as connector between database and JIRA.
But since the issue with databases are in security quite great I though, that maybe it would be better to just have .csv file from which JIRA would be taking data. Or maybe in cloud local jira I would be able to store these informations? But i have not find any way how to get to it.
Anyways. I think, that these two addons might help me achieve it, but I wanted to firstly ask on your opinion?
It is these ones:
- Elements Connect - external data fields
- External Data for Jira Fields
Thanks
Hi @Jan Šimek
I am the Product Manager of Elements Connect which does allow you to pull in information from a database and bring it inside Jira issues.
Are you using Jira Server or Jira Cloud?

Best,
Hi Juliette,
We are using JIRA Cloud.
As we are a Telco company, we are using a lot of information about ORIGINS/DESTINATIONS or name of our partners. So we are looking for a secured solution, where we can store all the information, which then will be connected to certain field in JIRA, in which user could be able to search.
Do you now see our use case or do you want me to go to details? :-)

Hi @Jan Šimek
Thanks for the extra information. Based on what I've read, Elements Connect seem to be a good fit.
Elements Connect encrypts datasources connection details. Here for more information.

Is possible through this addon connect even in .csv files in PC or directly on Linxa?
Thank you

Elements Connect support CSV files in Jira Server, this feature is not available in Cloud.
Regarding Linxa, do they have a REST API? I could not find this information. If they do, it's most likely possible.

Dear Juliette,
thanks for the info, I am trying to find out resolution. They should have, so you think the best option would be to connect directly Linxa to JIRA Cloud through REST API?
Thanks

I think it'd the most robust solution. Do not hesitate to share with me any details on how to authenticate to the Linxa REST API so that I can check if there are no limitations.

Dear Juliette,
I have reached to them, but they do not want to allow this option through REST API, also as you have stated, there is no possibility to use .csv on JIRA Cloud.
Do you have any suggestion in solving this case?
Thanks

Hi @Jan Šimek
The easiest option would be to import your CSV file in a local database and configure this database as a datasource in Elements Connect.
