What I'm looking to do is to help users creating requirements by pre-filling the Description field with the AS A...I WANT...SO THAT trio.
I have tried using an Issue Created trigger with a JQL condition for the issuetype (Story), and then using the Edit Issue Fields action to set the Description field. But the field is changed upon save, i.e. the text I want is not added until the user saves the issue. What I'm hoping for is to get the text inserted before they start filling out the form, so that they get the guidance I'm looking for.
Any possibility to do this? Using some other trigger or action?
Thanks,
/Gustaf
Hi Gustaf,
As I know, currently there is no this feature in JIRA yet. You can vote this feature in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-4812.
The workaround to add this functionality, it describes in https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/setting-a-default-value-in-the-description-field-166003857.html
Hope this helps.
Very late reply here, but your link to the general Jira request to Atlassian really paid of for me. A while back there was a comment there pointing to the Behaviours plugin (now part of Scriptrunner). This seems to do the trick for me, at least.... :)

Thanks! (y)
