Can a JQL query filter Classic vs Next-Gen projects?

Ricard Renalias June 3, 2019

Hi,

As a company we want to take profit of the possibility that everybody can create their own projects using Next-Gen Projects, but we want to have Classic Projects for "company projects".

We are currently using EazyBi to have the statistic data only for all "Classic Projects".

Is is possible to filter only Classic Projects when we import data from JIRA?

I know how to select projects individually by using project KEY but not depending on project type. Is there any field that allows me to import only Classic projects?

Thanks in advance,

Ricard

Hi Ricard,

You could try using JQL filter in eazyBI import options to limit the projects that you import in the eazyBI account.

I see from your screenshot that you have already figured out where and how to filter issues using JQL filters

That is actually our recommended way to limit issues from importing in eazyBI.

Perhaps, you can also filter projects by project categories.

Try finding ways how to separate Next-gen projects from classical:

Hello Martin,

thanks for your answer.

Reading the blog (https://blog.developer.atlassian.com/next-gen-projects-jira-cloud/) I have seen that a new field will be added to be able to know if a project is classic or NextGen.

I have checked if using the following JQL I can get only classic JIRA projects:

But I have received the following error Message:

Do anybody know if STYLE field is available?

Is there any similar method to do it?

Thanks in advance,

Ricard

Hi,

I am not sure that there is a way to search issues by the style of a Jira project using JQL, that is why you see the error in eazyBI import options as the "style" is not the issue level field but the project level field in Jira.

At least I couldn't find a way to find issues in classic projects only.
