Create Jira Issue from Confluence

Hello,

we can only create jira-issues out of confluence if we set the Browse Projects Rights to "Anyone on the web".

When we remove this group, no issues are displayed or possible to create.

However the user who is logged in to confluence is already member of an active directory group that is assigned to Team-Member and Administrators.

Any ideas how we can solve this?

The user should be able to access the Jira projects in order to create a Jira issue. After your Jira connected to Confluence with an application link, check if the user is a member of the Team-Member or Administrators role on the Jira project.

As I mentioned above, the user is already member of Team-Member and Administrators. More specifically an Active Directory Group is member of Team-Member. The user is member of that AD group

Is your AD group mapped to Jira group? As per your permission scheme, you are giving access to Team-Member and Administrators role in the project and not the Jira groups

How would I do this mapping from ad-group and jira-group?

I only know that the AD group is selectable in Jira and so I assumed that I can use that group

You have to specify the groups in the AD connection. You are probably doing it already if you can see the groups in Jira. Can you delete a user from that group in Jira? If you are not able to delete a user, then you have a local group and not an AD group.

Also, check if the user is a member of the project role as per your permission scheme. You are giving access to the members in the role. Groups are not same as roles

even if I add an ad-user to Team-Member in the project and also add that specific user to the gobal project scheme, confluence still says that the jira issue does not exist... .

Only "Anyone on the web" works. Application Access in any combination also does not work.

If i try to add AD-Users to a local Jira group Jira says:

You cannot add user 'xyz123' to group 'myTestGroup'. The user's directory is read only.
