I created a new Kanban project to track some separate work for my team, and I cannot find a way to create new issues. Every screen shot I've found online has a button somewhere (either directly on the board or on the sidebar), but mine has none of these. I've also read that some users have to switch to the backlog view, but I don't have that, either.
The only method I've found is to leave the Kanban board and view "All Issues." Please tell me this is not the only way to create new issues. There has to be a more intuitive way for team members to add new cards to our Kanban board, isn't there?
Hello @Wade Harshman ,
I’ve some questions for you.
1. is the new Kanban board created within any project or it’s a combination of different projects.
2. if it’s from single project, Do you have “create issue” permission in project permissions or not.
thanks,
Kagithala Babu Anvesh
It is a new Jira project that I created. I have admin rights and can create issues in every other project we have in Jira. When I look at Project permissions, "Create Issues" is set to "any logged in user."

Go to Kanban board --> Configure --> columns , check any unmapped statuses .
Please share the screen shot

There are no unmapped statuses. I had actually tried this before posting here. I only have 3 statuses and 3 corresponding columns in this project: To Do, In Progress, and Done. I may add more later, but if I can't find a way to create new issues then I will simply delete this kanban project and create a scrum project to replace it. It's too bad that it's so much trouble to create a simple kanban board.

No. The board only filters by issues in the same project.
