Date field showing only year

Hi all,

We are going to install Jira Server and we would like to know if it is possible to add a date custom field in issues that only show the year and not the entire date (gg/mm/yy).

Is it possible?

Consider using a single select and preconfigure with say 10 years. That should last for...well 10 years

I thought about this possibility, but I would like to set the current year as default value and in this way, I have to change the default value every year.

Nothing of incredible, but I want to make the issue opening process as fast and easy as possible for the users

what do advanced settings (baseurl/secure/admin/AdvancedApplicationProperties.jspa) options jira.date.picker.java.format and jira.date.picker.javascript.format say?

oh, guess I shouldn't try answering questions in the monday evening

if you want it to act like more vague field than what @Jack Brickey offered, you can create it as a text/number field and add some kind of regex validation on it (with a plugin)

so yeah, there's no "Year" type custom field, but it is possible to imitate it
