When I create a project in JIRA, a default client is being added to this project. The same client to each new project. Does this have to do with permissions? How do I stop this one default client to being added to each new project. It is under Project Settings/People. Thanks!
Anna,
I believe you're saying a default user is being assigned all issues in a project. This is the 'default assignee' for a project.
The default assignee is either the project lead or it is "Unassigned".
Have a look here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Defining+a+Project
You can change this project settings -> Details:

Hope this helps,

No, I am referring to when we initially create a new project and are adding people. One of our clients automatically is added to each project. This is the same page where jira-administrators is added. Then we have an option to add other people.
This is different from the JIRA board where we are assigning tasks.

Actually, your link helped but I need more detailed instructions.

The screenshot did not show what I am referring to. It is actually when you go to People in Project Settings and want to add people.

What is the client added to? Exactly?
Check out Project Roles, maybe that will answer your question.

With your screenshot, you were in Details. One item underneath Details is People (left hand column). Click on that and that is where the client is being added automatically.

I also have a separate question about actually adding a client but I am not able to : ) It says only certain emails can be added from the following clients. So I have to add the client website or email tag. It says the JIRA admin can change that. Is that someone in our organization or part of JIRA?

Anna, If you're not the JIRA Admin, you might not be able to change these. You'll have to contact the site-admin, usually the person who signed up for JIRA.

Okay, thanks! I will follow up with that. Did you get a chance to look into the details/people section?

Anna,
Yes, the People section is auto populating from the Project Roles. So check the default members of your project role:

That will more than likely fix your issue, lead you in the right direction at least.
